Beginning with an evening course at Washington University in St Louis with Herb Weitman, his study of photography has taken him to three workshops with Ansel Adams; and he has studied closely with Al Weber and Morley Baer, both prominent West Coast Photographers. He has used their influences to make photographs since then when he has the time. Now that he is a Retired Pharmacist, he will be able to travel and otherwise take more photographs. He has won many awards and his photographs have been published in local magazines. He has been part of a 4-person show in Chicago and had his own show at the Artist's Guild in Webster Groves, Missouri. "The architectural vignettes are some of the best, the most taut and thoughtfully observed works of this kind I have ever seen many of which are as close to total abstraction as photograpy can come." Mr Klostermann currently uses a Sony A 900 or NEX-7 and prints on an Epson 2880 inkjet odometer.
